ROCKINGHAM CENTRE TO HOST THE WA STATE FINAL WITH A SPECTACULAR RUNWAY SHOW.

Miss World is the largest and the most prestigious pageant in the world. Past winners have included Baywatch movie star Priyanka Chopra and Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai. The 2019 WA State Final is to be hosted by Rockingham Centre on the 29th of June, where contestants will showcase Autumn/Winter fashion from the retailers in an exclusive runway show. The show is set to be one of the biggest fashion events ever held at Rockingham Centre in history, and the day will include a variety of retailer offers and discounts that the public can enjoy.

A unique group of contestants with interesting stories will be gracing the stage. Among them includes a young woman whose family had to flee Sudan to escape the civil war, lived in Egypt for two years prior to arriving in Australia, and continually experienced extreme racism leading to wanting to bleach her skin. Other contestants include one who experienced physical abuse from a friend and partner at a young age, one who used to host a reality TV show in Bangladesh, and one who competed in the international WA group team for rhythmic gymnastics. Two remarkable contestants will be selected to represent Western Australia in the National Final, to be held at the prestigious Palazzo Versace in July 2019.

Joining the exclusive judging panel for the event are 2018 Love Island contestant Natasha Cherie, and Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise contestant Rachael Gouvignon.

The Miss World Organisation founded the Beauty with a Purpose movement more than 35 years ago, which focuses on encouraging women around the world to live a compassionate and humanitarian life. Miss World has raised over a billion dollars globally for their Beauty with a Purpose program. All Miss World contestants participate in the Beauty with a Purpose program, and fundraise for Variety, a children’s charity that aims to improve the lives of sick, disadvantaged and disabled children across our nation. In 2018, Miss World Australia contestants were able to fundraise over $300,000 for Variety.

Proudly hosted by Rockingham Centre.
