Help us alleviate issues of youth unemployment

06 Jun 2018

Rockingham Centre and Beacon Foundation have launched Light the Way - an initiative to help alleviate issues of youth unemployment and disengagement.

The Beacon Foundation motivates young people for a successful post-secondary school career. The aim of programs is to equip students with the skills and confidence required to make the transition from school to work and reduce the rate of youth unemployment.

We are proud to partner with Beacon for Light the Way.

To raise much needed funds, Rockingham Centre is selling $2 tote bags at the Customer Service Desk.

Aaron Bennett, Centre Manager, Rockingham Centre, said, “Light the Way is an opportunity for our community to come together and support the work of Beacon Foundation. We are proud to work with Beacon to engage young people in the peel region to achieve careers success and help alleviate issues of unemployment.”

“Rockingham Centre and Vicinity Centres will match every dollar raised during our Light the Way campaign, which will ensure the Beacon programs continue to provide support young people in our community.”
