Rock The Boat Film Festival is an independent short film and documentary festival that supports aspiring, emerging and independent filmmakers from across Western Australia. 

This year’s screenings will feature a range of shortlisted films and documentaries across multiple categories, showcasing local storytelling and filmmaking talent. Whether you’re a film enthusiast, aspiring filmmaker, or simply looking for an inspiring day out, it’s a great opportunity to discover Western Australian stories and support the local film industry. 

Screening dates & timings  

Join them at ACE HOYTS Rockingham located on Syren Street for four exciting screening sessions: 

  • (Opening Night) Saturday 12 September 2026 - 6:00pm – 9:00pm  
  • (Student Session) Sunday 13 September 2026 - 4:00pm – 7:00pm 
  • (Session 3: Connection) Saturday 19 September 2026 - 6:00pm – 9:00pm 
  • (Session 4: Resilience) Sunday 20 September 2026 - 4:00pm – 7:00pm 

 Includes Screening, Q&A time with the filmmakers, People’s Choice Voting, Networking & Connection time. (All sessions follow this format)

The festival also features its glamorous Red Carpet, black-tie Awards Night on Saturday 24 October 6pm onwards, where the best short films are screened and finalists and winners are recognised. It’s a fantastic opportunity to experience the excitement of the film industry, with tickets available to the public. Full details can be found in the program

Ticket Information 

Tickets are available from $25 per person ($22.90 + $2.10 booking fee). 

Student pricing are available for student session at $17 ($15.24 + $1.76 booking fee).
