Rockingham Centre acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate today, the Nyoongar people, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

We recognise the cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land, which continue to be important to the Traditional Custodians Living today.

National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June, and Rockingham Centre is proud to support this important week. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey – the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision respectively. This is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Reconciliation Australia’s theme for 2025 is ‘Bridging Now to Next’. The theme reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future and urges us to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.

2025 also marks twenty-five years since Corroboree 2000 brought together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous leaders in a historic call for reconciliation.  We continue that work in 2025, inviting all Australians to join us in Bridging Now to Next – building a more united and respectful nation.

At Rockingham Centre, we aim to create welcoming, inclusive and safe spaces for First Nations peoples and are committed to making meaningful contributions towards a reconciled Australia.

Join us as we celebrate National Reconciliation Week 2025 - discover and purchase stunning, iconic work from local Aboriginal-owned businesses that reflects the rich culture and storytelling of our First Nations artists.
