To find lasting freedom from problems, we usually seek solutions outside our self. However, no external method will provide the permanent relief from suffering we seek.

By uncovering the true cause of our daily problems we can find real solutions for them. Through taking Buddhist wisdom to heart, we can free ourself from negative states of mind such as sadness, irritation and anxiety. In this way, we remove the obstacles to effortless inner peace and genuine happiness.

The City, in partnership with Alzheimer’s WA (www.alzheimerswa.org.au) and Rockingham and Districts Alzheimers Inc., is launching a walking group for people living with dementia and their carers. The RAD Walkers (Rockingham Alzheimer’s and Dementia Walking Group) launches on Friday 4 May 2018 and will take place on the first and third Friday of each month 10am-11am at Village Green, Flinders Lane, Rockingham. Join us for a morning of reflections and creativity as we welcome Faye Bohling, who will be speaking about her book, The Laundry Girl. Set in Perth during the closing stages of World War II, first-time author Faye Bohling has written an autobiography that is full of passion.

Faye will talk to the audience for an hour and will then hand the floor over to her long-time friend, editor, English teacher and former journalist, Annie Girard, who will share with you the step-by-step process that Faye undertook to write her story and get her work published. Annie will then offer ideas about how to write an autobiography for those interested in writing their own.
