The Long Road From a Broken Heart: a 52,000km Cycling Adventure

Event Summary

Meet inspirational author, adventurer and keynote speaker, Jeremy Scott. On 5 October 2011, Jeremy began a challenge of a lifetime, a 2 ½ year, 51,916 km solo bicycle ride from London to New Zealand. As he pedalled his way around the planet, Jeremy covered more than enough distance to circumnavigate the Earth.

This life changing journey has been captured in the stunning large format coffee table book 'The Long Road From A Broken Heart'. Dream and believe, anything is possible.  Jeremy will be making a special one-off appearance as part of his four-month tour around Australia.

Your Journey to Great Gut Health

Celebrate Ability

Event Summary

Celebrate Ability is a free community event being held on Thursday 30 November 2017 to celebrate International Day of People with Disability.

The event will be held at the Gary Holland Community Centre, 19 Kent Street Rockingham, from 10.30am to 1.30pm and will provide community members of all abilities with an opportunity to take part in a range of fun activities and enjoy live entertainment.

Activ Library, in conjunction with Rockingham Central Library will be hosting a Human Library event in celebration and recognition of Disability Awareness Week. The Human Library is an interactive event which aims to break down barriers, encourage understanding and promote acceptance and inclusion in the community. Just like in a real library, a visitor to the Human Library can choose a book from a range of titles. The difference is that books are people and reading is a conversation.

Morning tea will be served by SMP Lifeskills2Work and we will be joined by the Performing Arts Group form Activ People Skills and Community for a performance on the morning.

The Rockingham Cupcake Association will be back again, this time to present a special Christmas cupcake decorating class. Participants will learn about the techniques involved when using fondant icing as well as some helpful methods to create the best icing.
